Reports to Commodore L. Warrington on ordnance, 1848-1849.

Reports to Commodore Lewis Warrington, chief of Bureau of Ordnance and Hydrography, on the ranges of the 8 inch shell gun of 6000ths, dated 1849, and of the 32 pounder of 32 cwt, dated 1848. Both reports are illustrated with watercolor drawings, maps and diagrams. A letter from Dahlgren to Warrington, dated February 19, 1849, and requesting pay raises for his assistants, is laid in at the beginning of the volume containing the Report on the ranges of the 8-inch shell gun. The Report on the thirty-two pounder also exists as a printed book, with some variations in the text: Report on the thirty-two pounder of thirty-two cwt. Washington: C. Alexander, 1850.
